From the period sources
Henryk Pachulski, identified as a Russian (Polish) pianist, received his early training from Strobl and Zelenski in Warsaw, before continuing his studies at the Moscow Conservatory. There, he was a pupil of Taneieff for composition, and N. Rubinstein and Pabst for piano, according to A Biographical Dictionary of Musicians (1905). Since 1886, Pachulski has been a teacher at the Moscow Conservatory. His compositions include an orchestral suite, a fantasia for piano with orchestra, and a piano sonata, alongside concert-studies for piano, soli for various instruments, and songs, as detailed by A Biographical Dictionary of Musicians (1905). The New Encyclopedia of Music and Musicians (1924) further specifies his works to include a Marche Solennelle (with piano), two piano-sonatas, and twelve preludes, noting his “good transcriptions from Tchaikovsky’s orchestral works.”
