Claude Delvincourt was a recipient of the prestigious Grand Prix de Rome in 1913, an honor he shared that year with Lili Boulanger, according to The New Encyclopedia of Music and Musicians (1924). This significant award, instituted under Napoleon in 1803, is bestowed annually by the French government through the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Winners, technically known as Lauriat d’Institut, are expected to spend three years studying under the Académie de France in Rome, typically having competed with a dramatic cantata.
